TED Circles is an open community of small groups that engage in conversations about big ideas Circles can take place 100% virtually so they are helping communities stay connected, especially now. Hosted by volunteers, TED Talks are watched and discussed as small groups. They share takeaways online to consider each other’s perspectives and create a global conversation. That conversation needs everyone so we hope you will register to host or sign up to attend. TEDxUniversityofPretoria hosted a series of Circles where individuals were provided a safe and respectful space to communicate and share views and perspectives on said topic.
TEDxUniversityofPretoria hosted a series of conversations with individuals from various fields. The series, branded Conversations Worth Having, saw it’s launch on 11 June 2020 with the intention to create an educational and entertaining experience, while making people feel something legendary through legendary conversations with legendary people. We had the pleasure of conversing with the following guests on topics ranging from Digital Artistry to Leadership: Lethabo Huma, Kopano Fanasi, David Kabwa, Boipelo Tshukudu, and Internet Girl. We wanted to gauge how the pandemic affected them in these various fields and how they envision the future of those industries growing
TEDx Salons are hosted in a similar fashion to TED Circles, except that they are hosted in person. TED talks are watched and discussed by attendees. Ideas and perceptions are shared among the group. Recommendations and relativeness to own situations are shared as well.
The TEDxUnviersityofPretoria event is the flagship TED event from the TEDxUnviersityofPretoria society. The TEDxUniversityofPretoria organizing team has applied and successfully received a TEDx license, thus branding the event: TEDxUniversityofPretoria. The event will bring together a diverse audience under the banner of spreading ideas in our community and campus. This year, this exciting and highly anticipated event has gone virtual in light of the pandemic. The TEDxUniversityofPretoria organizing team understands the value of this event and thus decided to continue to provide our audience with the content and experience they love on an online platform.
